Yes!  The Call Report software is able to calculate more than one automation routine for the same NCUA account code.  This is especially useful for the loan areas of the Call Report when you need to gather information from various codes (purpose, security, category, G/L) for the same NCUA category or if you have off-trial-balance (OTB) loans and in-house loans that fall into the same NCUA category.  Each automation routine is set up separately then is automatically added together to provide the total for the account code.

Here are a couple of examples.  Keep in mind that only selected account codes in the 5300 software have automation routines available.
  • Example 1: “All Other Secured” loans are gathered from purpose codes 10, 11, 12, security codes 9, 11 and 15 and loan category code 14.
  • Example 2: “Commercial Real Estate” loans are gathered from G/L account 704.01 and loan purpose code 9.

Important Note:  Keep in mind that the final calculation will include all of the accounts that meet the criteria.  In Example 1, all loans in purpose codes 10, 11, 12 and security codes 9, 11 and 15, and category code 14 are included.  If there are duplicates (loan account is purpose code 10 and also security code 9), the account is only included once.

Automation routines are configured from the main 5300 Call Report Data (Tool #362) screen, by using the auto-pop button next to the account code.
