I haven't been using Tool #360 "End of Month Processing" to close my G/L and would like to start. Does it matter what month I start with?
No, you can start with the most recent month you consider your books to be closed and no longer need to be able to post entries to that month. (You don't need to run it multiple times for multiple months to catch up. )

In CU*Spy on the End of Month tab I don’t see reports that I manually pulled and sent to MONTHxx. Is this only showing the automated reports?
Reports are categorized in CU*Spy according to the type of report, not the output queue to which they were printed. If a particular on-demand report also happens to be set up for Monthly Automation via the Report Scheduler, even if it is scheduled to print to the MONTHxx OUTQ it will still go to the same category in CU*Spy as always, not to the End of Month tab. Hint: When you are checking your automated reports to make sure they all ran, rather than try to remember where they normally get place More...

What is the best data table/file to use when I am building a query of my file maintenance data? I see two options, CUFMAINT and CUFMNT.
Beginning with the 17.10 CUBASE Release (October 22, 2017 for online clients), CU*Answers implemented the CUFMAINT table, which includes data from the CUFMNT table, as well as additional data not included in CUFMNT. CU*Answers recommends using the CUFMAINT table for all report building and query activity. If you currently have any Queries using the CUFMNT table, they will still work, as CUFMNT is now a View over the C UFMAINT table but without all of the additional information, so it will s More...

In CU*Spy on the End of Month tab it looks like the LCLMBE Closed Member Report and LCLACE Member Closed Account Report are getting pulled every day. But on the Report Automation Tools Standard Reports feature (Tool #759 Report Automation - Standard Reports) it says MONTHLY.
The Closed Account Report and the Closed Membership Report have two versions. LCLACE and LCLMBE are the daily reports that run at EOD. These reports show closed accounts and closed memberships for a single day. LCLAC and LCLMB are the reports that are run from the CU*BASE menu and via Report Automation, and these show closed accounts and closed memberships for a given month.

I have an online credit card loan account where the balance from the previous month end was paid in full by the payment due date, yet the member still incurred a finance charge. Why?
Credit card finance charges can be confusing as they are different from a normal simple daily interest consumer loan, because billing cycles play a part in the finance charge calculation. Both current and previous billing cycles are required for the calculation to qualify for a configured grace period. Grace period flags are determined by the credit union and disclosed in their credit card disclosures. Finance charges are waived if the account qualifies for the grace period configured in the loa More...

Can I monitor which specific accounts my employees are accessing via Inquiry and Phone Operator? Can I see what menu options they are trying to access?
Yes, CU*BASE has Employee Security features that let you monitor access to CU*BASE programs by any employee ID, whether CU*Answers or credit union employee. Every time a CU*BASE program is accessed, the system records who accessed the command and when. For CU*Answers employees, the file records the individual ID for the staff member (not the alias) so you will be able to tell who from CU*Answers was doing the work. This file (file name SECAUD) was designed to let you see what commands an emplo More...

The member has scheduled Automated Funds Transfer (AFT) and has selected the option to "pay the amount in full every time (for credit cards or lines of credit)". What happens if the AFT amount will result in an overpayment of the loan's current balance?
You can schedule the AFT payment to pay the amount in full every time (for credit cards or lines of credit). Making this selection allows the member to pay the LOC or credit card off every time a transfer is performed. (The recommended frequency with this AFT payment method is Monthly.) For LOCs , this means pay whatever the current balance on the loan is at the time the transfer is performed. If the AFT payment amount will result in an overpayment on the loan, the transfer amount will be adj More...

What do the various device and print job statuses on the iSeries mean?
When a device first connects to the iSeries, a virtual device is created - consider it a placeholder for that workstation or printer. Only one device can exist for each ID, which is why only one person can sign into a printer at a time. Throughout the virtual devices lifecycle, there are several different statuses that device can be in. Read below for some details! Do I have to activate online banking and audio response automatically for all my new members?
No, actually you can default all new memberships to deactivate online banking and/or audio response access until the member specifically requests it. This is highly recommended as it helps to protect members who join the credit union but never get around to using your online tools right away. These accounts may be your most vulnerable since the member hasn't set up a private password or security questions. By deactivating them as a default, you can give them a little extra protection from More...

We are thinking of activating the new See and Jump features for online banking. Can you explain the thinking behind the security, and why only an account owner can have this access?
IMPORTANT NOTE: With the new look for It’s Me 247 being released during 2021, the “See” option shown on here is temporarily unavailable. Members who had See-only access previously configured will no longer have access. Jump, however, is still available. There are two major points to consider when thinking about allowing members to see information beyond the account to which they are actually logged in. Both extend beyond online banking to consider a financial institution&rs More...

Why on an ATM or Debit card do I need to flag a member's card as "hot" and also close the same card in order to close the linked account or close the membership?
When a credit union statuses a member's card as 'HOT' or warm (Lost/Stolen/Fraud/Restricted), this information is transmitted immediately to your vendor to stop any further withdrawals/purchases being performed with that particular card. But at your vendor a 'Hot Card' is not considered to be a closed card. When your member's card remains at a HOT or Warm card status on CU*BASE, CU*BASE is still required to send any maintenance updates such as address change, phone numbe More...

Can I have CU*BASE default the applicable delinquent fine code into that field when I am building a new loan request?
Yes. There is an Amortization Default option available in each of your Loan Product Code configurations which allows credit unions to default amortization criteria such as: Delinquency Fine Code, Rate, Payment Frequency, # of Payments etc. The system will then default this value into the applicable fields when creating a new loan request. These defaults are intended to provide consistency for all new loan requests, but can be changed/edited during the loan request process if necessary.
