These reports do not necessarily match.

The report generated by Tool #1014 1099-1098 Tax Information Report displays information from your credit union's tax file, to be used when verifying tax information for reporting to members and the IRS. Three reports are available: one for 1099-INT information, one for 1099-R information,1098, and 1099-SA information. You can even print the report for a single Social Security number, if you need to check on a certain member's information. This includes everything, and is not necessarily what is reported. For example, your member may get five dollars of interest that is not reported.

The PVEOYTAXF is a report contains all member records and totals and verifies that all member records are added to your tax file totals for the year. What you are looking for in this report, as covered in the year end guide, the amounts shown in the member file should match the amounts in the tax file. 

PVEOYTAXF is a report that essentially verified that all the records from the member records are added to the tax files at beginning of year.  It compares the member records to the tax files, and if there is any difference to review, it would show in the column showing “DIFFERENCE”.  If all are blank or zero, you’re fine.

For the tax report via tool 1014 – this is giving the records that will be included in the tax reporting by each form type.  The will exclude any records that are no eligible for reporting such as IRAs and HSAs for 1099INT reporting.
