Care should be taken when following these steps. Follow credit union policies and procedures.

CU*BASE will not allow you to back date an entry until you open your books back up.
The control month and year is a “back stop” control, which means that once the month and year is set, you are restricted from posting debits and credits to previous periods, but not from posting into the future. All journal entries, including any reserve/closing entries, should be posted prior to running end-of-month.
  1. To be able to reopen your books and make a journal entry for a prior month, use Tool #1784 Corporate ID Maintenance and check if the Current process month/year field is the current month.
    • If needed, change the Current process month/year field to the month that needs to be reopened. Then, use Add/Update to save your changes.
  2. Make your journal entry in Tool #61 Create/Post GL Journal Entries.
  3. Then, if needed, return to Tool #1784 Corporate ID Maintenance and change the month back to the current month (and year). Again, save your change by using Add/Update.
