No. These do not need to be checked for the phone number to be used for MFA. The member must be smart enough to select a number that can accept a text message, however.


While these labels do not matter for MFA, remember they are still important for other areas of use by CU*BASE.
  • The “mobile phone” indicator in CU*BASE is informational only and is only there as a guide, for example for Call Center staff.  Many EFT vendors also use this so it may be included in your card maintenance to your vendor.
  • The “can send text messages to this number” checkbox indicates that the member has agreed to have text messages sent to this number, such as for marketing purposes or other direct contacts. This is also not required for the MFA automated system, however
