SecurePAK is a set of technologies that allow all communications between the credit union router and CU*Answers to be encrypted using FIPS approved AES 256-bit data encryption algorithms. It creates an encrypted VPN tunnel through the private MPLS network and is provided at no extra charge.

MPLS is quite secure by default, meaning that it would be exceptionally difficult for an attacker to compromise the data traversing CU*NextNET. CU*NextNET is not reachable by the Internet and travels a separate network from Internet traffic. CU*NextNET uses private packet tagging (labeling) to ensure data is only accessible by authorized network components.

SecurePAK takes the default security to the next level by using incredibly strong encryption. We would not be surprised if regulators soon required data encryption between FI's and data processors. This is an excellent way to get in front of this expected regulation.
