To associate a file name extension with a file type:

1. Click Start > Settings > Control Panel
2. Double-click Folder Options
3. On the File Types tab, select the file type (extension) you wish to change and click Change (or click New to create a new association)
4. Select a different program to associate with the file extension
5. Click OK twice to save and exit
