You're not doing anything wrong, but there are times when certain special characters that can be produced in programs like Microsoft Word are not recognized by the Seagull LegaSuite software on which CU*BASE GOLD runs.  For example, the "smart" quotes (the curly single and double quote marks that Word creates) and the ellipsis are not recognized.  And sometimes even the # sign causes trouble. 

One tip: paste the text into Notepad (a plain text editor), remove the existing apostrophes (single quote) and double quote marks and retype them (Notepad will use straight quote marks instead).  Then copy the text from Notepad and paste into CU*BASE.  You can even do the same to other special characters such as # or &. 

Seagull has told us they know about the issue and that it will be resolved in a future version of the LegaSuite Client but there is no ETA at this time.
