Follow these steps to change a member's opt in/out preferences for marketing and other communications:

  1. Launch Tool #15 "Update Membership Information" 
  2. Type in the member’s account base
  3. You will be shown a screen with general member information such as name and address
  4. Use Enter until you reach the final screen with the "Other Information" sub-heading
  5. Check the CU contact opt out box 
  6. Press Enter to save and finish


You may also update the Flag using Phone Operator. Simply select the Name/Address button (F14) and perform the steps above.

It is highly recommended that if a member is asking to "opt out" utilizing an electronic delivery method like email, that you communicate to the member what they are actually opting out of.  It is very likely they will change their mind.  

TIP: Don't forget to use the opt-out exlcusion flags when using any of the CU*BASE communication programs like Member Connect.  This omits members who have been opted out so that they do not appear in the final list to be used for the communication.
