At the Membership Level we first check to ensure that there are no OTB relationships (Could be an OTB Card or OTB Account). One the following messages may appear (the following are all hard stops, meaning the account cannot be closed until these are taken care of):
  1. Membership attached to CRDT type OTB account
  2. Membership attached to LOAN type OTB account
  3. Membership attached to SAVE type OTB account
We will also check to ensure that no batch/online cards are attached to the membership. One of the following messages may appear (the following are all hard stops):
  1. Membership attached to online DEBIT card
  2. Membership attached to online ATM card
 For each individual suffix that is closed either separately or during the entire membership close process, the following messages may appear as part of the closing process (the following are all hard stops):
  1. Account has a balance of X (if balance is not zero)
  2. Account has a delinquent fine of X (if there are any delinquency fines on open/closed end loans)
  3. Account has a dividend accrual of X (if any certificate has a accrued amount)
  4. Account has an interest due of X (if any loan has an amount of interest due)
  5. Account has a government interest due amount of X (if any loan has an amount of government interest due)
  6. Account attached to safe deposit box number X at branch number Y (If account is attached to a safe deposit box)
  7. Account is secured to account X (If any secured balances is greater than zero on any account)
  8. Account attached to online DEBIT card
  9. Account is attached to online ATM card (if any batch/online cards are attached to any account)
  10. Account attached to online CREDIT card (if an open end loan has a credit card attached)
 
Warning messages may also appear, which will still allow the close process to continue:
 
  1. Membership is dormant (if the membership or account is dormant)
  2. You are about to close an escrow account. Have all processing steps to this escrow been completed? If not, complete those steps before closing the account (if an escrow account is closed).
  3. This account base is on file as a joint owner and/or beneficiary. It can be replaced by your other account (during the membership close process, and will only show if closing account has 2 SSNs in MASTER).
