There are several configurations that control the member’s ability to set up and maintain Automated Funds Transfer (AFTs) online.
- Does your credit union's Personal Internet Branch configuration allow the maintenance of AFTs?
- Are AFTs configured to show in online banking?
- Does the member's PIB configuration allow maintenance of AFTs in online banking?
- For existing AFTs: Is the record locked to prevent changes in online banking?
1. Does your credit union's Personal Internet Branch (PIB) configuration allow the maintenance of AFTs?
To check this setting go to
Tool #569: Online/Mobile/Text Banking VMS Config. From the entry screen select
PIB. First see if your credit union is using PIB and has a default credit union profile:
If "Activate personal Internet Branch" is checked, your credit union is using a credit union profile. (If not, you can skip this step.) Then use Enter twice.
Manage AFT transactions must be checked to allow maintenance of AFTs by members.
IMPORTANT: If you are unsure, please contact a Client Services Representative for making changes to any of these settings.
2. Are AFTs configured to show in online banking?
To check this setting go to
Tool #165: Auto Transfer Frequency Configuration. From the entry screen select the frequency you wish your members to use online. For example you may allow monthly, but not allow quarterly AFTs to be scheduled in online banking. In the detail screen is "Display in online banking" checked? This is necessary for member to make changes to AFTs of this frequency in online banking.
3. Does the member's PIB configuration allow maintenance of AFTs in online banking?
Refer to Question 1 to ensure your credit union is using PIB. If your credit union is not using PIB, skip this step.
Now check if your member may have requested or manually set their personal PIB settings to not allow AFT maintenance.
To check this setting, go to
Tool #14: Member Personal Banker. Enter the member's account number on the entry screen and use Enter twice. Then select
Personal Internet Branch (enroll or change PIB settings) and use Enter. (If you are not allowed to use this feature, skip this step. The member is not using PIB.)
If allowed, enter two more times to enter the screen where personal AFT settings are configured.
Manage AFT Transactions must be checked for the member to be allowed to maintain AFTs online. If it is unchecked,
follow your credit union's procedures before changing this setting to checked.
IMPORTANT: If you are unsure, please contact a Client Services Representative for making changes to any of these settings.
4. For existing AFTs: Is the record locked to prevent changes in online banking?
To check this setting go to
Tool #884: Update Auto Transfer Information (Shortcut: aft). Select the AFT in question and use Change. Use Enter. On this screen look to see if
Lock record to prevent changes in online banking is checked. In this case the member cannot manage this AFT online.
Warning: There are reasons that AFTs are locked. Follow your credit union's procedures before unlocking any AFT record for a member!
