A complete group of data in a file.  Or put another way, a complete row of data across a table made up of multiple columns (similar to a spreadsheet).

For example, in the MASTER table, which contains membership information, all of the information about a specific membership account comprises a record.
Records contain many columns (fields), such as name, address, date opened, etc.
