• Online: This is the real-time card transactions as they occur and are posted to member accounts.  The system writes entries to the card transaction activity files and general ledger files 24/7 in CU*BASE.
    • NOTE: See this detail for one member on the Recorded Card Activity screen in CU*BASE. (See help link below.)
    • Use Query (Report Builder) to view all card transactions for the previous 30 days in the ISOCUDTA table. (This file includes transaction data for all vendors used by your credit union.
  • Recon: This is vendor’s daily accumulation of card transactions as reported from the merchants. This includes points of services and sales.  These ‘vendor recon files’ are received to the system from the various EFT vendors) nightly or daily, according to the vendor.
    • Use Query (Report Builder) to view all card transactions for the previous 30 days in the PANRCNV table. (This file includes transaction data for the previous seven days).
  • Recon program: After the vendor recon files are received, the CU*BASE recon programs compare the data from each the online and recon files looking for transactions missing from the other file, or for transactions present but with a different dollar amount.  When a difference is located a report line is printed to the appropriate report. (see additional KB below).
  • Recon reports: The recon program documents the differences mentioned above on two recon reports.
    • The Online Reconciliation Recon to Online Match (PRCNXX1) documents the entries made in the vendor file that are not in the CU*BASE online file.
    • The Vendor Reconciliation Online to Recon Match (PRCNXX2) documents the entries made in the CU*BASE online file that are not in the vendor file.
    • The differences documented on these reports could be from various reasons.
  • Settlement Date:  This is the date when a trade is final, and the buyer must make payment to the seller (and the seller delivers the assets to the buyer).  Each transaction is assigned a settlement date, which may or may not be the same as the date of purchase or service.
    • All recon reports are based on card transactions for a specific settlement date.
  • Retrieval Reference Number: This is unique value used to identify a card transaction.  It is used in the recon matching process to help locate missing transactions or transactions with different amounts.
