When using a third-party app to instantly push funds into a member's CU account, the member will need to share their full account number (base member number and suffix). We recommend using the full MICR number to avoid errors, but it is not necessary. (Note: users may be prompted to input different formats depending on the third-party app.)
If the member has previously connected their account to the third-party app, they are able to select it as the recipient from their list of accounts. Several third parties (including CashApp and Venmo) use Plaid to connect to financial accounts. Our integration with Plaid allows members to easily connect their accounts without having to manually input the account number.
