There are no controls or limits in place for receiving instant payments via RTP or the FedNow Service. Once receiving capabilities are set up for your credit union, any CU member can receive instant payments in their savings and checking accounts. Due to the immediacy of instant payments, CU*Answers cannot ensure the recipient's name and account number match before the instant payment is received. 

We strongly recommend you make your members aware of the irrevocable nature of instant payments. Payments are processed immediately and cannot be canceled or reversed after they are successfully sent. The account number (base member number AND suffix) must be entered correctly by the member to ensure the funds are received in the correct account.

As we build the framework for sending instant payments from member accounts, we will include configurable controls and limits for member sending capabilities.
