Yes. Archiving an employee allows their employee ID to be reused by another employee and the current employee will appear on reports. Also archiving an employee erases the record of what tools to which that employee had access.

Instead of archiving the employee when they leave your credit union, be sure to lock them for a period of time as recommended in the Employee Security Audit booklet. 
  • A good rule of thumb is to retain a Teller for 12-18 months, a Member Service Representative (depending on responsibility) for 18 months, and a loan officer for much longer.
