Note: This only applies to thermal receipt printers with the Carswell module. If you are unsure if you have the Carswell module, please contact WESCO Net.
After purchasing the logo update kit, you will be provided with two files: carsDL2-2.exe and a TLG file (e.g., filename.tlg). This flash will need to be performend once per receipt printer, and needs to be run from the workstation that is physically connected to the printer.
- Log into the workstation with local administrative privileges. Administrator rights are required to perform the flash.
- Copy the carsDL2-2.exe and TLG files to the local workstation. These should not be run from a network location, such as a shared drive, as this greatly increases the chances of a corrupt flash that may damage the printer.
- Go into "Printers And Faxes." This can usually be accessed directly from the Start Menu, but may also be found in the "Control Panel."
- Find your thermal receipt printer. Note: The name of this printer may vary.
- Right-click on the printer and enter the "Properties."
- Click on the "Ports" tab near the top.
- Change the port from "COM1" to "LPT1."
- Click "Apply" then "OK."
- Launch the carsDL2-2.exe program.
- Uncheck the boxes for "Download Firmware" and "Download Configuration."
- Click the "..." button to the right of the "Logo File" line.
- Select the TLG file that was provided in the update kit and click "Open."
- Click the "Download" button.
- The printer should make short noise and you should received a confirmation dialog box.
- Test print a receipt to make sure the new logo is present.
- If you receive an error message, or the new logo is not on the test receipt, please contact a member of the WESCO Net Team for assistance.
