Can the maximum number of outside and in-house check fields on the Xpress Teller Funds In screen (20 for outside checks and 10 for in-house checks) be increased per CU? Views: 108
The Xpress Teller Funds In screen was specifically designed to allow for a single place to bring in cash, checks, in-house drafts, and now misc. advances (cash advances on a Visa, for example), all on a single screen. It was specifically not our intent to replicate the ability to enter 588 outside checks and 126 in-house checks and 60 misc. advances, because to do that would mean having to split into 3 separate screens, same as in the existing teller system. So if you have a member who brings in More...

Is it true that I don't have to activate my teller drawer with Xpress Teller? Views: 104
To be precise, you do still need to activate, but Xpress Teller will do it for you automatically, behind the scenes! When you launch Tool #1600 Xpress Teller from the home page, the system will look at the branch on your current workstation, and if you aren't already activated in that drawer, you'll be activated automatically. A couple of things to keep in mind: If you aren't authorized to that branch in your employee profile, an error message will appear and you won't be able More...

Why am I sometimes finding the primary owner only and other times the primary and secondary owners (such as joint owners) when I use the Xpress Teller search feature? Views: 97
Depending on how you use the search criteria, you may get different search results: If you search on the account number, the results will show the names of the primary and secondary members of that membership. When you search on first and last name of the person, your results will include accounts where that name is primary or secondary (joint, co-borrower, beneficiary, miscellaneous owner) on the account. If the person is primary, the results will also include names of people who are secondar More...

Can you update an ID image or scan a new one from the Xpress Teller ID verification screen? Views: 96
If there is no image found for the account, you can click the image not found graphic on the Verify Identity screen to access the Secondary Names screen. On that screen, you may need to uncheck Photo ID on File to reveal a Scan button. Use this to scan the new ID. If there is already an image saved and you need to replace it with a newer ID, back up to the Who are You Serving screen. From there, access the Secondary Names screen. Then follow the directions above to replace the photo ID.

Can some of my tellers use Xpress Teller (Tool #1600) and some use Standard Teller (Tool #1)? Views: 93
Yes, it is possible for an employee to use both teller platforms (Tool #1600 and Tool #1) if both tools are assigned to their employee profile. This allows you to roll the Xpress Teller platform out gradually, maybe assigning Xpress Teller to head tellers to start the rollout. For the most part, however, an employee would elect to use one tellering platform.

How does the Inquiry and Xpress Teller search work when it comes to hyphenated names, or names that end with something like Jr., Sr., II, and III? How does it work with names with an apostrophe in it, such as D'Andra? Views: 87
In the new search engine, we use a special technique to handle last names that are hyphenated, or where there is a suffix after the name, such as Jr., Sr., II, III, and the like. Here's how it works: Since the search engine can look in so many places based on the Advanced Search settings, there is a behind-the-scenes work file used to organize the data. This work file contains separate fields for the name that's displayed on the screen and the name that's used for sorting. For the n More...

What about access to things like Cross Sales, Next Suggested Product, and Tracker updates via Xpress Teller? Views: 87
Xpress Teller was specifically designed to be a TELLER system: cash, checks, and working with the member’s money. We designed it on purpose for a different style of teller line, where tellers don’t do MSR and sales duties. It’s not intended to use sales tools like Cross Sales or Next Suggested product; it's not for MSRs that are selling and opening new accounts. That means it can have a much shorter learning curve, and tellers don't have to be gurus and know all of the More...

If there isn't a photo ID on file for the member, what does the Xpress Teller ID verification screen show? Views: 86
If you are showing ID images right on the Xpress Teller screen, and the search doesn't locate an ID for that member's SSN/TIN, then an Image not found graphic will appear in place of the ID. You can click that image to access the Secondary Names Inquiry screen, where you can view other IDs for joint owners/co-borrowers or scan a new ID for the member or any other name listed on that account.

How long does it take for the ID to appear when it's displayed on the Xpress Teller screen? Does the screen appear first while it's waiting to fetch the ID image? Views: 83
Just like the existing way that IDs are searched, the amount of time it takes to loan an ID onto the screen will vary depending on things like your network speed, whether you use the CU*Spy vault or your own in-house vault, what the level of traffic on the system is at any given time, and myriad other factors that may even vary from one moment to the next. Based on early feedback from beta-test CUs and early adopters, though, we're excited to see that the new technique is at least comparabl More...

Xpress Teller activates the drawer automatically. How do you update your totals when you purchase funds from the vault? Where do you update totals for specific denominations? What is the process for balancing? Views: 82
The only thing different in Xpress Teller is we save you from having to do the following steps: Enter your ID/password Press Drawer Control/Audit (F24) and then Activate (F1). (A “You’re activating at branch...” window appears just on your first time in that day.) Everything else about the teller drawer control is the same, and in fact, both teller systems share the same drawer behind the scenes.
