CU*Answers exclusively employs MPLS circuits to credit union branches as part of our CU*NextNET communications strategy.
ISDN is a legacy technology used for automated backup for the primary MPLS circuit. ISDN has been deprecated and we are no longer installing new ISDN circuits. Instead, we are using automatic Internet VPNs to backup the primary MPLS circuit. There is no extra charge for an automated VPN backup circuit, but the credit union must supply the secure Internet connection.
If you are currently using an ISDN backup circuit, we recommend migration to VPN as failovers are faster and more reliable, plus you can save the monthly cost of the ISDN circuit.
