  • 1. What are the differences between an online ASP and in-house e-document strategy? Public
    Preview
The differences ultimately come down to control and cost. The online ASP system is the fastest, simplest, most inexpensive way to get started with an e-documents strategy for your credit union. With online ASP you offload the back-end service management headaches to CU*Answers. We manage, backup, secure, and patch/upgrade the eDOC servers and databases and these processes fall under our SAS 70 and third party security audits. The online ASP system consists of electronic storage of receipts, loan  More...

  • 3. How do member phone numbers work as they relate to card orders and maintenance? Public
    Preview
CU*BASE uses phone numbers that are stored in the MASTPH file when generating card activation information to send to vendors on initial card orders. The numbers in MASTPH are determined by the label/flag applied in Tool #3 Open/Maintain Memberships/Accounts or Tool #15 Update Membership Information as follows: Nighttime # - primary phone number sent to vendor and defaulting into the Card Activation field when ordering a card. Daytime # - secondary phone number sent to the vendor. Mobile –   More...
  • 4. When a database table (file) is expanded or reformatted as part of a development project, what kinds of adjustments might need to be made on my custom Queries that use that table in the definition? Public
    Preview
For things like expanded balance and transaction $ amounts, Query will automatically adapt to larger amounts, and you generally won’t need to do anything. (The only exception is if you send the output to a vendor, they’ll need to be made aware of the larger amounts. Or perhaps if your report is completely full side to side and you need to remove a column in order for everything to still fit across a printed page.) • 6. With Co-Op national shared branching, is there a way to identify transactions as cash or check deposits, the way in-network ATMs show in transaction history? Right now there is no way to tell if a shared branch deposit, or a shared branch ATM deposit is cash or check. Public
    Preview
When a cash deposit is made at a Smart ATM, we are able to place a $ symbol within the secondary transaction description, and the BSA program uses this to identify currency. But shared branch network activity is different. Transactions via Co-Op national shared branching have the ability to include both cash and checks as part of the funds in. Adding a notation to the transaction records would be difficult at it's not a 1:1 correlation between funds in and the transaction. For that reason,   More...

    Preview
As the name of this G/L suggests, this suspense G/L is a wash-through account for automatic system transfer processes such as member journal account transfers, auto check transfers etc. Therefore this G/L should be zeroed out each day as both sides of the transfers offset each other and wash through this G/L. However there are certain things that can occur (either automatically or manually) that may cause a balance to remain in this G/L and require manual intervention to clear it out. The m  More...

When using Tool #1375 Data Transfers (Upload or Download) to download a system-generated file and save to an Excel file, sometimes the date fields save as a number (such as 61219) rather than a date (6/12/2019 or 6/12/19). This number can't be converted to a date in Excel except by manually retyping each date. The tool has a format button, but this appears to have no effect on the file that is produced.
