With the CU*BASE budgeting tools, can I project changes to my branches for the coming year, such as if I’m adding a branch or plan to reallocate member branch assignments at some point?
Yes. There is a technique for reviewing and manually adjusting branch allocation calculations for projected asset and liability balances. See the Budgeting with CU*BASE booklet for instructions. NOTE: The classical budgeting tools also contain a “Close a branch” function which zeros out monthly figures from your budget starting with a month you specify. But this does not affect projections for asset and liability balances used in the modeling tools.

If I send a marketing email via Member Connect to a lot of members, do I have to watch for bounced-back emails and update CU*BASE for those with wrong addresses?
Prior to April 2023, we ran a daily routine that collected invalid email addresses throughout the day, then during BOD processing marked email addresses as wrong and recorded a Tracker note with the name of the operator who ran BOD. Starting in April 2023, instead of simply marking them as wrong, we now delete the email address and put it into the Tracker note. There are reports for CU*BASE Member Connect messages that tell us members that received a message and those who did not and why. Are there any more reports like this?
For e-statements, use the PESTMTN2 report, archived in a credit union's CU*SPY under the Member Services category. This report is generated once a month when e-statement emails are sent. If CU*BASE is offline for some reason like system maintenance, and a member uses text banking to request a balance, will they be charged for that text message even though the system couldn't respond?
Since the system will be unable to respond with a balance, it will also be unable to log the text message against the member's account number, which means it cannot be included when fees are tallied. So although the member may still be charged by their mobile phone provider for text messages they send, they will not be charged the usual text message fees by the credit union via CU*BASE (nor with the credit union be charged for that item).

How can I get a member who has a balance on an OTB Credit Card onto my CU*BASE database so they are able to take advantage of a sweep account to pay on their credit card?
In some cases, the general upload file that is received by CU*Answers on a daily basis only contains accounts where a member has had a change to their account. Contact your OTB vendor to see if you can request a full file to be sent so that all card information would be sent in the upload file to CU*Answers. (In some cases if your CU is already being charged for the upload it is possible there would be no change in price to have the full file sent over.)

Yes. You won't be able to read the answers to the member, but you can reset (clear) them. This will force the member to set up new answers and/or questions the next time they log in. What CU*BASE Report can be used to verify the number of active members used for my invoice billing?
Our billing includes Active Memberships (as opposed to Closed Memberships) excluding those with Written Off Loans. Use the Membership Analysis Report (Tool # 520). When choosing your selections, be sure to use the previous month in the Date to Process field, Select Active in the Accounts to Include field and select Report written off loans separately in the Report Option field. To update a member's credit bureau record for loans with your credit union once they are closed on CU*BASE you would need to use E-Oscar website. Your credit union would need to be registered with the bureau and receive a signon and password.
