What causes a member check to be returned as 'Refer to Maker'?
Previously, credit unions used Code 38 for “Return to Maker”, but this code is no longer available in the system. This change was initiated by a Reg CC change in 2018. If a non-member completes an online loan application and we decide to approve it and set up a membership, can we have them also fill out the online membership app process (MOP)?
It is not recommended that you make a non-member fill out both a loan application and then go through MAP/MOP after that. The way these work currently, there is no way for the system to know those completely independent applications have anything to do with each other. The following things are not affected by 7-day back office processing changes implemeted in February 2019. ACH - ACH will continue to process as always. OTB - OTB is not affected by 7-day back office processing. If your credit union uses business days to determine check holds, the release days are determined using the non-business day configuration (Tool 243). Because of the complexity of messages that would be needed to handle mortgage payments via a voice response system, payments cannot be applied to 360 loans via CU*Talk audio response. Members will hear the following message if they attempt to transfer money to a 360 mortgage loan in CU*Talk audio response: A payment is not allowed at this time. My member has an AFT set up with the payment date controls set to “2=Make this payment ONLY if a payment is not made another way” for their membership. This month my member did not have enough money in the From: account when the AFT transfer was processed, but she made a payment afterwards directly to the loan to fulfill rest of the loan payment. Why were the AFT funds not transferred to the loan account?

How does 7-day processing affect the generation of CU*Spy reports?
Reports are generated during beginning-of-day (BOD) processing and end-of-day (EOD) processing seven days a week. No configuration changes are needed. A whole new set of reports will be created on Sunday as with Saturdays. If you refer to reports daily, you will also need to review the Sunday reports, in addition to Saturday reports, if you do not already do so.
