Yes. There is an option to use a different font that is easier to read. Keep in mind that this means each receipt will be slightly longer, and therefore you will go through thermal paper more quickly.

To maximize imaged thermal receipts and avoid discoloration, avoid prolonged exposure to UV lights, vinyl, plastic, shrink wrap, adhesive, and wet-toner copies or certain carbon papers and water. Store the reciepts in a dark place with a temperature below 77 degrees Fahrenheit and a relative humidity of between 45 and 65 percent.

This normally happens when the thermal paper roll is installed backwards. Change the thermal paper roll to feed from underneath itself and printing should be restored.
