Self Processors can access OPER #10 > #7 and view the default credit bureau. Online credit unions should contact Client Services for this information. I'm trying to pull a Query that shows the number of
NSF fees a member has been charged. Is there a field that separates the number of NSFs from the number of Courtesy Pay (ANR) items? I do not want to include ANR.
The NSF Statistics Dashboard (Tool #557) will track this information for you automatically. It is separated into the NSF category and the Courtesy Pay Category. Credit unions are using this dashboard to help predict averages of NSF/Courtesy Pay fee income and also to track how many members may be using the service. You can click on any of the origins (listed in blue text) and you can drill further to members who had more than X transactions in a specific month. There are a lot of graphical oppor More...

When I pull a Loan Information report based on # of days delinquent, why do I see loans where the months and days delinquent show as 0, but the actual # of days delinquent is not?
Remember that the delinquency monitoring system populates the delinquent Months and Days fields, changing these values whenever payments are made or other activity causes the due date to adjust on the loan account. By contrast, the Actual # of days delinquent value is not stored on the loan account, but rather calculated on the fly by specific reports or screen dashboards, using the current date and the next payment due date on the loan account to determine an actual # of days. Since loan More...

In CU*Spy on the End of Month tab it looks like the LCLMBE Closed Member Report and LCLACE Member Closed Account Report are getting pulled every day. But on the Report Automation Tools Standard Reports feature (Tool #759 Report Automation - Standard Reports) it says MONTHLY.
The Closed Account Report and the Closed Membership Report have two versions. LCLACE and LCLMBE are the daily reports that run at EOD. These reports show closed accounts and closed memberships for a single day. LCLAC and LCLMB are the reports that are run from the CU*BASE menu and via Report Automation, and these show closed accounts and closed memberships for a given month.

When you use the filter buttons on the File Maintenance Inquiry dashboard (Tool #159: Audit File Maintenance Inquiry (CUFMNT)), indicators note which programs, fields/columns, and files/tables AuditLink has flagged as “critical” for auditing teams to monitor on a daily basis. We have non-members who want to cash checks in our lobby but instead of receiving cash back, they want an official credit union check for a better paper trail. Can this be done using non-member teller processing?
Yes, by making use of both a Misc. Receipts and a Misc. Expense posting code, so that you can put the funds temporarily into a G/L then issue a check from that same G/L. Here are the key steps: First, configure two posting codes, using Tool # 534 Misc. Posting Codes Configuration. For the first one, choose the Receipts type and set up a code that will allow you to place funds into a G/L account. For the second one, choose the Expenses/Advances type and set up a code that will allow you to More...

Why is a Credit Report showing two different credit scores?
This typically happens when a credit report is returned from the bureau as 'fragmented.' A fragmented credit report is one that may contain more than one person's credit information. This may happen with twins, Jr./Sr. situations, etc. Another way this may happen is sometimes Creditors do not furnish a SSN when they report to the Credit Bureau and a trade item may be applied to all accounts with that name, address, etc. When the credit report is returned as fragmented, you will More...

Can the CU*BASE dormancy/escheat system automatically take care of pulling funds out of accounts eligible for escheating?
The dormancy tool does not do this, although it is possible to create automated transfer (AFT) records to move funds from member accounts according to whatever policies and procedures your credit union wants to use. Keep in mind that our dormany and escheat monitoring system works at the entire membership level, not individual accounts (in other words, it's about membership dormancy, not account inactivity). Likewise, when the system uses your escheat settings to flag an account as escheat More...

When reviewing the Contingent Liability Analysis (Tool #280) the data pulls from month-end files. Count totals are based on review dates.
When the report is pulled from month-end totals the count is different when you query the MEMBER6 file due to review dates. If the review date of the loan has been reached the report will ignore the loan total due to the member no longer being able to draw on the available funds. This is controlled at the loan category definition level with the Use review date for disbursements flag being checked.

When setting up risk-based pricing on my loan categories, what do I do if my credit union does not use paper grade?
Paper Grade lets you set up more than one set of score ranges and rates, each for a different grade. Since you do not receive a paper grade from your credit bureau, just leave that field blank in the loan category amortization defaults and just enter one set of score ranges and rates. This will allow the rates to be automatically pulled into the loan request based on credit score only. configuration

Why on an ATM or Debit card do I need to flag a member's card as "hot" and also close the same card in order to close the linked account or close the membership?
When a credit union statuses a member's card as 'HOT' or warm (Lost/Stolen/Fraud/Restricted), this information is transmitted immediately to your vendor to stop any further withdrawals/purchases being performed with that particular card. But at your vendor a 'Hot Card' is not considered to be a closed card. When your member's card remains at a HOT or Warm card status on CU*BASE, CU*BASE is still required to send any maintenance updates such as address change, phone numbe More...

How does a member's account get debited for bills they schedule through "It's Me 247" Bill Pay (Fiserv)?
In one of three ways: Note: The term 'subscriber' refers to your 'member'. Electronic Payments (ACH) - Fiserv's preference is to send all payments electronically. However in the Risk Model format it is not always feasible. Fiserv submits the merchant payment (via the fed) from a Fiserv settlement account the same day we submit the debit (via the fed) to the subscriber account. Fiserv is taking the risk on the payment. Electronic payments are typically sent when the subscr More...

I have a member completed a loan application with the incorrect Social Security number for the joint owner. How did the credit report pull under the correct SSN if the incorrect SSN is attached to the loan application? Is there an indicator that will tell us that the SSN is incorrect for the co-borrower?
The information sent to the bureau was not an exact match, but based on the information provided (including name, address, DOB, etc.), the bureau returned a match to the correct SSN. CU*BASE is set up to pull a credit report for applications that are sent from online banking based on the applicant's consent to have their credit pulled within the application. There is not a way for the SSN to be verified as correct or not at the time of the application, but the credit bureau is able to do fur More...

When a database table (file) is expanded or reformatted as part of a development project, what kinds of adjustments might need to be made on my custom Queries that use that table in the definition?
For things like expanded balance and transaction $ amounts, Query will automatically adapt to larger amounts, and you generally won’t need to do anything. (The only exception is if you send the output to a vendor, they’ll need to be made aware of the larger amounts. Or perhaps if your report is completely full side to side and you need to remove a column in order for everything to still fit across a printed page.) As far as dates, if a date was formerly 3 separate fields for year More...
