My member gets a Social Security (SSA) deposit via ACH. We use an ACH distribution to pay the member’s loan payment, but the loan payment was not made. Why did this happen and what benefits are there to using an Automated Funds Transfer (AFT) instead?

I have a husband and wife who both receive Social Security payments to the same membership. Now that CU*BASE uses the new way of handling ACH transactions from the SSA, these are causing duplicate distributions to be posted. What should I do if my members still wish for them to be separate transactions?

My member has elected to opt out of receiving overdraft services via the Reg E opt out flag. Will that member be charged NSF fees on a PIN ATM/Debit (13) or Debit Card Signature (16) transaction?
Credit Union ABC has activated the Reg E opt in/opt out feature and has configured a NSF fee. John Smith, a member of ABC Credit Union, has elected to opt out of receiving overdraft services. John will not be charged an NSF fee on one-time PIN ATM Debit (13) and Debit Signature (16) transactions. When I use the "credits only" or "debits only" buttons in transaction history, I don't always see the transactions with the date I entered.
As described in this AnswerBook item , this has to do with the unique way in which transaction records are displayed in this inquiry screen.
