While using the "Work With" function in Tool #99 Manage My Custom Reports, I saved my query and updated the name. Why did it create another query with the new name instead of editing the existing query name?
As the CU*BASE query tools are IBM commands, we are not able to modify them; saving as a new query with the updated name is the expected result.

Why on an ATM or Debit card do I need to flag a member's card as "hot" and also close the same card in order to close the linked account or close the membership?
When a credit union statuses a member's card as 'HOT' or warm (Lost/Stolen/Fraud/Restricted), this information is transmitted immediately to your vendor to stop any further withdrawals/purchases being performed with that particular card. But at your vendor a 'Hot Card' is not considered to be a closed card. When your member's card remains at a HOT or Warm card status on CU*BASE, CU*BASE is still required to send any maintenance updates such as address change, phone numbe More...

Why can't I write off a Student Loan using the "Write Off Loans" feature on the Collections Functions menu?
Because they require special government processing, any loans with a Process Type of 'S' (Student Loans in Interim) or 'P' (Student Loans in Payout), cannot be written off using the Write Off Loans option. You will need to re-create the loan under a different closed-end loan category (maybe a special one called 'Student Loans in Collections'). TIP: If desired, while creating the loan you can use the Override feature (from the Recap screen) to edit date fields, etc., so More...

Why aren’t text banking numbers stored in the same place as other contact numbers for members?
This is on purpose. Remember that It’s Me 247 text banking must be able to receive a text request from any phone for a member of any credit union across the entire network. So these numbers are actually stored in a central file that includes enrolled phone #s for members of all CUs, along with key indicators that funnel the incoming call to your credit union and the member’s specific account. (That’s why a member has to provide a membership nickname, in case they have accounts More...

You can edit and delete erroneous documents. This is performed through idocVault and cannot be done on CU*BASE. Anyone that is in the CUADMIN user group on idocVault, will have permissions to edit any document. They can delete, edit indexes, or move it to another table. I have activated the Flex Loans feature. When my member adjusts their term online, they are not seeing all available terms as expected. Why could this be the case?
Flex Loans allows members in It’s Me 247 to request a change in the term of their loan which results in a payment change. This is permitted on configured products with monthly payment frequencies. The loan modification request can be immediate if the member is qualified and your credit union activates auto approvals. Otherwise, the member’s request is sent to the LOS loan queue (Tool #2) to be approved or denied by your loan officer. While using the Flex Loans feature online, membe More...

Is there a way to copy one of the graphs I see on a CU*BASE GOLD screen and paste, as is, directly into a report I'm writing?
The easiest way to do this is to use the Copy to Clipboard option. On any chart in CU*BASE GOLD, right-click anywhere in the chart and choose “Copy to Clipboard” off the menu. This clips out just the chart and its title and is ready to paste into anything you like – an email to staff, a board report, an analysis write-up, etc. This extraction method is intended to make the pre-built GOLD charts simple for you and your staff or analysts to find, use, and share as useful and ey More...

Upon review of the Reg CC schedule we received from CUNA, it appears checks over $5,000 must have 3 release dates: Reg CC (next day), $4,775 on the 7th day and the remaining on the 9th day. The system will not allow us to make more than two release dates on a single hold record. Will the system have the capability to follow this regulation or how can we do this?
The $5,000 hold isn't something CU*BASE does currently and is manually performed at the credit union level, by creating a second hold record for the amount exceeding $5,000. On the second hold, the Reg CC release date must be set to the same date as the Release date , so that a second Reg CC release of $225 isn't performed. This will require a new internal procedure for your credit union. Use Tool #919 Update Uncollected Funds Information to add a new hold record or adjust an existin More...

What about access to things like Cross Sales, Next Suggested Product, and Tracker updates via Xpress Teller?
Xpress Teller was specifically designed to be a TELLER system: cash, checks, and working with the member’s money. We designed it on purpose for a different style of teller line, where tellers don’t do MSR and sales duties. It’s not intended to use sales tools like Cross Sales or Next Suggested product; it's not for MSRs that are selling and opening new accounts. That means it can have a much shorter learning curve, and tellers don't have to be gurus and know all of the More...

What options does my CU have to be creative with how I charge NSF and ANR (Courtesy Pay) fees?
Here are just a few ideas: Configure an NSF fee to be per item or per day. Most CUs have not approached the per day concept, but it is available to prevent multiple fees from posting to members when multiple items are NSF on the same day. My credit union likes to review printed notices before they are mailed out to members, but we are also trying to switch people to eNotices. Do you have any tips for how we can still make ourselves aware of what notices are being produced on a daily basis?
From a front-line inquiry standpoint, there’s no better record-keeping option than having people check member Tracker histories. The notice type, date, and contents are easy to look up in tracker history, but prior ones are available to scroll back through as well so you can see context of the individual member’s history with that type of notice, or others. When it comes to the ability for staff to review this data for proactive outreach, such as to see who has delinquent loans an More...
