  • 1. What are the self-processor network requirements for CBX? Public
    Preview
Before you begin: CU*Answers requires any CBX environment to be in an isolated sole-purposed DMZ to protect you from our network and to protect us from your network. Any distributed environment requires a load balancer with sticky sessions to function properly. CU*Answers only supports F5 load balancers. Our current recommended server sizing for self processors (not partners) is 4 cores, 16GB RAM, but may need to be adjusted based on actual usage patterns. • 2. What causes a member check to be returned as 'Refer to Maker'? Public
    Preview
Previously, credit unions used Code 38 for “Return to Maker”, but this code is no longer available in the system. This change was initiated by a Reg CC change in 2018. Now, if you are presented with a situation where you need to return a check to another institution, it is recommended that you use one of these codes to clarify the reason for the check return. Some codes allow you to make the change in CU*BASE. Others require that you contact your Check Item Processor. Read below for   More...
  • 3. Since we are a self processor, how will Magic-Wrighter get the files for A2A? Public
    Preview
When a member requests an A2A transfer the request is stored in the A2ATRANS file in FILExx (where xx is your credit union ID). CU*BASE has a program which checks that file periodically through out the day. If there is a new item in the file, CU*BASE sends that information to Magic-Wrighter. You will need to take into consideration that there is a daily cut-off time (arranged by you with Magic-Wrighter) and these transactions can take up to 2 business days. So for example, if a request is ent  More...

The fields are related to Process Codes, in that they are derived from the code attached to the message received from the plastics processor (vendor, or switch). The Type you see in the initial Type column of the Activity screen relates directly to the Transaction Description when you view additional transaction details. Transaction types may not apply to all vendors. Examples of these labels are as follows: DEP (Deposit Transactions) ATM/DEP A deposit made at an ATM. ATM/DEP - including a $  More...

No, you do not have to automatically activate OLB or ARU for new memberships. Actually, you can default all new memberships to deactivate online banking and/or audio response access until the member specifically requests it. This is highly recommended as it helps to protect members who join the credit union but never get around to using your online tools right away.
