What if I have a brand-new loan form I want to set up for e-signing?
You’ll first have to initiate the usual forms setup request, letting us know you want the new form to also be available for e-signing so we can set up the signature boxes correctly. There will be no extra charge if you activate eSignatures at the same time as the rest of the new form setup.

What options are available for who controls setup and access to "BizLink 247" business banking?
There are three options available for setting up users, assigning permissions and resetting passwords in BizLink 247 (formerly It's My Biz 247 ): Scenario A: Company controls access to BizLink 247 and PIB-MLO (credit union still can support) If the company elects to use PIB-MLO, your credit union will only need to set up an initial administrator user in CU*BASE. Then the business will have a user that can log into PIB-MLO who can manage online banking access, including adding additional use More...

A member is setting up the connection between Quicken or QuickBooks and online banking. During the setup the member receives a "unknown BID number" error. What should the credit union do?
The credit union needs to share their correct BID number with the CSR, and the CSR should route this number to the online banking team for configuration assistance.

One of our members tried to set up biometric authentication for the mobile app. The app said setup was successful, but he was unable to use any of the biometrics to log in. He tried multiple times and is now locked. He uninstalled and reinstalled the app. He also restarted his phone. After restarting, he was notified that authentication is temporarily locked.
The member will need to wait 15-20 minutes until they are unlocked. Or the member can also toggle to the standard login process and enter their username, password, and answer to security question, then access the settings info option from the More menu, and they can reset their app data or go into authentication options and reset authentication options on all devices to re-establish their MACO features.

My member gets a Social Security (SSA) deposit via ACH. We use an ACH distribution to pay the member’s loan payment, but the loan payment was not made. Why did this happen and what benefits are there to using an Automated Funds Transfer (AFT) instead?
Prior to the 16.10 release, the SSA began using multiple Company IDs, and it was recommended that credit unions consider using Automated Funds Transfers (AFTs) to handle distributions. Beginning the 16.10 release a new cross-reference system will be implemented that will automatically funnel all incoming company IDs from the Social Security Administration and treat them as if they came from one, consistent company ID we’re referring to as the “Primary ID.” With the changes ma More...

We are thinking of activating the new See and Jump features for online banking. Can you explain the thinking behind the security, and why only an account owner can have this access?
IMPORTANT NOTE: When It’s Me 247 was updated in 2021, the “See” option shown on here was made unavailable. There are two major points to consider when thinking about allowing members to see information beyond the account to which they are actually logged in. Both extend beyond online banking to consider a financial institution’s role and responsibility in protecting member private data via all access channels, from the teller line to a back office employee answering More...

How does the A2A process get started? Once the form is filled out what do I do?
The first step is to make sure your credit union has filled out the three required forms: Sign Up Form, Electronic Payment Service Agreement, and Fed ACH Participation Agreement. There is also a non-disclosure agreement to sign to receive a copy of Magic-Wrighter's SSAE-16 audit results. Once the Client Service and Education team has received the forms from your credit union, they will send the form to our third party processor, Magic-Wrighter. A member did not get either an October or November statement, but his December statement showed a range of 12/1 to 12/31, not 10/1 to 12/31 as I would have expected. Can you explain?
In this particular member's situation there was no activity in either October or November that triggered a statement. The credit union's quarterly (and year-end) statements are configured to produce a statement for every member, regardless of activity level, but monthly statements are more restrictive in an attempt to save postage costs, and not every member gets a statement every month. NOTE: CU*BASE statements have a considerable number of configuration options that allow credit unio More...

Documents from GOLD are printing to the wrong tray.
Tray assignments are controlled by a combination of the model in the CU*BASE library, the print session configuration, the Windows driver, and the settings on the printer itself. Let's break down how each affects it first: Model in library - each model defines the PCL code that CU*BASE appends to the print job for duplex and trays. If the wrong model is selected, the wrong PCL may be pushed with the print job. It is also important to have a supported printer , otherwise CU*Answers cannot More...

Can I set up an IRA Required Minimum Distribution from an IRA Certificate?
You can schedule an AFT (Automated Funds Transfer) or CFT (Check Funds Transfer) from an IRA certificate the same way as from an IRA savings account. CU*BASE will perform the scheduled transfer, withhold any scheduled taxes (you can specify either a % or a specific $ amount for Federal and/or State backup withholding on the AFT/CFT setup screen), and will not charge a penalty for certificates. Credit union FROM email addresses are closely regulated and monitored within CU*BASE. Can I still get signatures in the lobby on loan forms I've sent out for electronic signing?
Yes, and you can even do both in-person and eSignatures on the same document, such as if you have the primary member in your branch but their co-borrower is not able to come in to the branch. You’ll simply uncheck that signer name when setting up the e-signing. Just remember to gather all your in-person signatures before sending out for e-signing, because you can’t capture in-person signatures once e-signing has begun.
